Man Who Snorted Cocaine Off Pablo Escobar’s Grave In Colombia Receives Death Threats

Steven Semmens from Wales was filmed snorting white powder off Pablo Escobar’s grave in Itagui, Colombia, in April 2018.

He said he meant it as a ‘mark of respect’. He’s kicked out of Colombia – where his girlfriend and twins live for five years.

It was funny at the time but I’m ashamed. Everybody said I was a disgrace and I was making the country look bad.

Mr Semmens, who plans to become a drugs counsellor, claims the video was filmed by a hitman for Escobar’s Medellin Cartel after they met in a bar.

After the video went viral, he went into hiding before police found him and gave him the five-year ban.

The president even mentioned me on TV and the police were worried for my safety. It was really scary. I regret doing it so much. People sent me death threats on Facebook.

Most Colombians feel offended where they are still branded as drug dealers or Pablo lovers.

They said if they found me they would skin me alive. I can’t see my children and that hurts.
