Star Wars fans everywhere were eagerly awaiting the reveal of just who would be the director for Star Wars: Episode IX, and now Colin Trevorrow has finally been confirmed.
The director was of course at the helm of Jurassic World, which has gone on to gross $1.6 billion worldwide, and smash box office records.
It will be the ninth instalment of the Star Wars franchise, with the news announced to a crowd of 7,500 at Disney’s D23 fan convention.
Disney of course acquired LucasFilm back in 2012, and now has a host of Star Wars spinoffs and reboots planned.
After hearing their latest news, it seems Episode IX is set to be a cracker – and probably box office gold to boot.
